The long tail of the gown flowed behind, not on a red carpet, but through the red sandstone..

...Of the gorgeous safdarjung tomb.
The dress was in itself a complete "Regal Party", celebrating the beauty of the mughal architecture.
The intricate sequins lace work outerwear dress, over a short walnut brown dress..and a long trailing detachable tail behind..
A three-piece attire reminding you of how elegant layering can be!
The beautiful sequins lace cut out work recapture the art of a mughal Jali, with its intricate detail and delicate feel...
Created by designing student Akshmeen Kathuria, the attire is a reminiscent of and inspired by a Jharokha.
"A jharokha is a type of overhanging enclosed balcony used in mughal and rajasthani architecture. Jharokhas jutting forward from the wall plane could be used both for adding to the architectural beauty of the building itself or for a specific purpose. One of the most important functions it served was to allow women to see the events outside without being seen themselves."

Thus justifying the royal color and shimmer to her work, the femininity of her attire, the long trail of the dress as imagined flowing down the Jharokha where the maiden would sit and wonder and stare down her kingdom...
